Wine Flies Free...for Alaska Airlines Mileage Members
Not many things in life are free; especially when it comes to travel.
Alaska Airlines recently released an enticing new benefit:
Alaska Airline's Mileage Members can check in wine on a flight, up to a case, for free.
Last week, Alaska Air hosted a Bay Area promo evening at Testarossa Winery, Los Gatos.
Local wine industry leaders, press, and wine and food writers were present.
We were afforded a time to chat about Bay Area and California wines, and
the benefits of the Wine Flies Free program.
It's a genius move. Alaska will inevitably attract more customers, and traveling is now easier for Mileage Members.
When traveling, would you like to give your host or business contact the gift of regional wine? Or say you found a gorgeous bottle of wine or two, and want to bring some home to remember your special trip. Shipping wine can be costly and time consuming. But Alaska has you covered with their free wine travel, up to a case.
The West Coast can be fairly transient, with people changing jobs and moving in and out of the area. Most
of my lifetime friends, and family, have moved over the years. So for me, traveling can range from an one hour flight to Southern California, over the Pacific to Kauai, to across the Pond to my best friend in the UK.
For some, travel is an everyday occurrence for work and business. For others, it's their path to entertainment, rejuvenation, or a once in a lifetime moment. No matter your reasons for flying, anything to simplify the process is welcome.

So now it's convenient to visit more West Coast wine regions—knowing
you can easily get your wine home.
On your way to Tahoe? El Dorado and Amador Counties are chock full of gorgeous roads
and inviting wineries. Going to the iconic Pebble Beach area?
After grabbing a fresh made pastry in Carmel by the Sea,
go inland a bit and explore the Salinas Wine Trail.
And Bring Home Some Wines.
Traveling with wine for free just become doable.
